Your Accordion Teacher: Patricia Bartell
Patricia Bartell is a graduate of Whitworth University with a B.A. in Music Education and Accordion Performance. Patricia is recognized not only in North America, but internationally as an adjudicator, professional performer and teacher.
She has studied piano with Dr. Judith Schoepflin of Whitworth University and with Kendall Feeney of the Golandsky Institute, which is the preeminent center for the Taubman Technique Approach. Patricia has also studied “The New Technical Approach” with the world-renowned accordion teacher Frederic Deschamps in France. This technique approach has helped produce amazing results for all ages. Awesome Learning Process
As I indicated before to you, I feel your teaching methodology is great and the best thing is that one can learn on their schedule. Wish I would have had something like this 60 years ago when I first took accordion lessons at 6 years old. I am taking my time and going through each piece slowly and am in no hurry, but as I progress between each lesson, I feel that I am really learning a lot of things I didn’t know before and becoming a better player. I’m going to keep going as far as I can go and really appreciate what you’ve developed and highly recommend it to anyone who really wants to learn how to play the accordion the right way.
Excellent Course! I learned ssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooo Much! particular at the last half of the course. However, the best thing was private 1 hr. lessons. Two reasons; 1) With a one-hour lesson, you really have time to get into the heart of learning. You have time to question, try and issues with guidance. 2) That when you get stuck learning a piece, Patricia and her staff can see what your doing and give you “tools” or excerises to help correct your problem and help you learn “how” to learn! I am so happy I found Accordion Life and having a world of fun learning!

Getting left and right to work as a team!
These series of lessons where a great review for me. In some way’s it explained some area’s I’ve jumped over. My biggest difficulty continues to be to get the left and right hand to work together. I really like the modern blues and dark eye’s song. I’m excited to see how we can expand upon the songs in future training sessions.
Is there a series of daily exercises for the left hand that you would recommend outside of simple scales up to Db and F#? It would be especially helpful if it could be added it to the program so we could hear a play back at different speeds and styles.
Marvelous Course
Short of taking private lessons this is the best available method of learning the accordion. It is also a great review for experienced accordionists. Patricia is a fabulous instructor.

Level 2 Completion
I am extremely happy to have completed level 2 successfully. When I started it only appeared to be a humongous task but now feel, indeed I have achieved something worthwhile in my life. I am so confident now..and have definitely come from no where to somewhere giving me a solid foundation and paving a way for me to keep moving on and on in this musical journey.

I am very happy that I found this website and started lessons. I have not done a Skype lesson yet but I am sure there will be a time I will. The price per month is a bargain, it is the same price of weekly lessons and I cannot review the lessons once it is over. These lessons I can go back and review as many times as needed. Some of my family members think I am wasting my time and money for taking online classes but they do now know how this works. I am very glad for Patricia and her employees teaching and helping with any questions I have. I am in this for the long haul. Thanks Patricia and Accordion Life.

Level 2 Review
It is great to see many different beats, etc in Level 2. Kudos for Patricia’s wonderful expertise. Phenomenal method. It’s so goo how she breaks it down into “small bites” and then has us put them together. Also, it’s good to be able to practice at our own rate. Nice to be able to spend more with the curriculum when I have more time and be able to pick up where I left off when I have a full schedule. What a wonderful method of teaching us the Accordion.
I really like the clarity of each step. I have gone through all the lessons but I am still doing them a lot slower than normal .
