    • Hi Joseph, How about telling is a little about your accordion journey?

      • Sorry! I haven’t been consistent at all with my practices, and once I do, I reach a stopping point and can’t seem to get passed.

        • Hi Joseph, Happy to hear from you 🙂 I run into those road blocks all the time. And like you I tried many times to “self-teach” but when you get to a stumbling block, there is no one to help you out. I did find an Answer though!!!!!! I started taking lessons from Patricia at Accordion Life/Bartell Music Academy. If you not in the area to take in-person lessons, Skype is the next best thing. Both Patricia and Yev are great teachers and will be able to assist you in breaking through those stumbling blocks. The other answer, is you must be consistent in practice and commitment to accordion. It is a complex instrument and it will take time. The fastest way to learn is to practice daily and take weekly lessons. I am in my 3rd year of lessons and I practice daily. I am improving greatly. Am I playing like I want? No, but I am much father along than I was when I started and I am having fun while I learn. If I was left to my own devises, my accordion would still be in the closet! Accordion Life has a new blog that they are just about to release. Talk to the folks at Accordion Life to get the details or feel free to reach out to me here. I am always interested in talking accordion.
